Tasting notes
Good full red. Inviting, expressive nose features dark cherry, licorice, iron, black pepper and roasted herbs. Dense and sappy; less powerful than the Mazis but intense, sappy and aromatic, with excellent lift from the pepper and spice elements. The Rotys carried out a green harvest here, but not in their Charmes-Chambertin parcel. Finishes with excellent length. I love this bracing style. Very 2004 but in need of patience.

(a 1920 planting) Bright, deep red with ruby highlights. Black cherry, black pepper, licorice and minerals on the nose. Ripe, pliant and fine-grained; rounder than the Mazis. Nicely fine-grained wine with an enticing floral element giving it lift. Finishes with ripe tannins and lingering minerality.
