Direct, fresh fruit. A bit spindly but certainly clean. A bit pointed and jagged with rather dry tannins on the end. (JR)

This perennial underachiever has turned out a smoky, classic Graves displaying notes of damp earth, sweet berry fruit, tobacco leaf, and barbecued meat. This medium-bodied, soft 2006 reveals more complexity in its aromas than on the palate. It is a tasty, pleasant claret to drink over the next 7-8 years.

Fresh and smooth but slightly lacking personality. Very dry finish. Too dry? (JR)

About the producer

Square Chateau Olivier
Olivier

Ch. Olivier is one of the few actual castles in Bordeaux – coming with a moat and drawbridge. Since Alexandre de Bethmann took over here in 2012, the château has been given a new lease of life, with quality on the rise.
