Tasting notes
The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Roncières has tremendous depth in its fruit but also comes across as a bit awkward and closed in on itself. This is a very difficult wine to judge today.

The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Roncieres has tremendous depth in its fruit but also comes across as a bit awkward and closed in on itself. This is a very difficult wine to judge today. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. My tasting with Denis and Bertrand Chevillon was one of the highlights of my most recent trip to Burgundy. The domaine’s 2009s are flat-out beautiful. Readers will not want to miss these gems. Importer: Kermit Lynch, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524
Bright, dark red. Cooler aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, smoke and minerals. Juicy, tight and firmly built; sweet but not at all cooked. This pure, fruity wine shows very good energy from calcaire Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely lingering perfume. An excellent early showing for this wine.
