Tasting notes
There is a wild streak in the sweet blackberry-scented 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Roncieres. Medium-bodied and silky-textured, it bursts on the palate, unleashing loads of brambleberries and wild black fruits that are intermingled with rocks as well as fresh herbs. Gorgeously pure and detailed, it is a complex offering with an extensive finish. It should be drunk between 2008 and 2018. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524

Good deep red. Fruit-driven nose dominated by cherry and raspberry. Sweet and broad but given shape and verve by solid minerality and pungent spiciness. This has the most texture of these 2002s to this point. Finishes with nicely buffered tannins. Rather stylish but built to last.
