Score 90/100 · Drink 2003-2005, Robert Parker, Jun 2003

Villard fashioned powerful Condrieus in 2001, all revealing honeysuckle, apricot, and peach-like fruit as well as abundant minerality. The medium to full-bodied 2001 Condrieu Terrasses du Palat exhibits more wood and earth as well as the same ripe fruit notes as found in the 2001 Condrieu Le Grand Vallon. I loved this cuvee, which is best consumed over the next 1-2 years. Importers: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel. Discreet aromas of peach, minerals and spices. Penetrating, sharply delineated and bright, with a granitic firmness adding to the impression of freshness. Offers a lovely light touch, and very good peachy persistence.
