Tasting notes
Clerico's 1988 Barolo-Ginestra is a super wine, with a dense dark ruby color and a big, ripe nose of tar, spices and earthy red fruit. In the mouth, the wine displays super-concentration, as well as a ripe, full-bodied, glycerin-dominated, tannic finish. The wine has terrific potential and extremely high tannins, but it is still backward and unevolved. Anticipated maturity: 1995-2007 . Importer: a Marc de Grazia Selection, Michael Skurnick Wines, Westbury, NY.
