Tasting notes
The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux is a new wine in the range. This is a decidedly airy, ethereal Gevrey that impresses for its understated personality and class. Black cherries, spices, violets and licorice are woven together nicely on the delicate finish.

Screwcap! Rather heavy bottle. Solid slightly wild nose with a hint of animal. Racy palate. Very distinctive. As though following a different regime from the rest. Lifted and rather soaring but it does not follow the path. I would expect this wine to proceed in fits and starts rather than predictably. Excellent tannin management. QGV (JR)

I continue to be impressed with the wines Benjamin Leroux is making under his own label. Leroux sources fruit from a number of top vineyards in the region. The wines are made in a facility Leroux shares with Nicolas Rossignol in the center of town. Unfortunately the 2010 Bonnes-Mares was too reduced to evaluate.
