2007 Vertice Apalta Vineyards

(a blend of carmenere and syrah) Glass-staining ruby. Potent, expansive aromas of blackberry, mulberry, potpourri and smoky herbs. Lush and creamy on entry, then firmer in the mid-palate, offering pure dark fruit flavors and a seamless texture. Harmonious and inviting now but there's ample power and depth here for aging. The finish is sweet, penetrating and impressively long.
