Tasting notes
Interesting relic from the heatwave vintage – good attempt at titillation – but it’s a bit tarry and exaggerated really. I can see why it hasn't sold so far! (JR)

(tasted from cuve Ruby-red color. High-toned aromas of red berry liqueur, coffee and nutty oak; rather evolved, in the style of so many 2003s. Shows some porty high tones on the palate, with the fruit in the background. Today I don't find a lot of depth or definition, and the tannins are a bit dry. In an awkward stage, and a bit dull today.
Medium red. Candied raspberry and licorice on the superripe nose. Sweet, lush, fat and full, with slightly medicinal flavors of licorice and shoe polish. Today the flavors don't seem to go with the wine's texture. Finishes with substantial tannins and good grip for the vintage.
