Tasting notes
The 1997 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneto Manachiara is a fabulous rendition that has held up beautifully now past the 15-year mark. The fruit tones have all but slipped to the back but there is enough fleshy consistency left to support a broader spectrum of smoke, lead pencil, crushed flowers and licorice. The floral component, especially the dried rose, is the most nuanced. The palate shows firmness and drying tannins. Drink: 2014-2024.
