Tasting notes
Score 91/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound, Mar 2006

An extremely pretty and expressive nose offering Gevrey earth, subtle spice notes and an elegant, pure and beautifully complex cornucopia of red and black fruit aromas that give way to medium weight but classy and nicely precise flavors that deliver excellent length all while remaining in near perfect balance. This is an understated wine of harmony and finesse and one that should age very well on its balance rather than power or concentration. Drink: Try from 2009+

The 1999 Chapelle-Chambertin (domaine) is medium to dark ruby-colored and has an intense, penetrating, currant and blackberry-scented nose. Baked cherries, plums, spices, and hints of coffee can be found in this medium to full-bodied, chewy wine. It is rich, pure, powerful, and has great length. Drink this dense, concentrated offering between 2005 and 2014. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300.
