Opaque ruby. Intense black and blue fruit aromas are complemented by notes of peppery spices and candied violet. Juicy, seamless and gently sweet, with excellent depth to its blackberry and blueberry liqueur flavors. Packs a serious punch but comes off energetic, even lithe. Gentle acidity adds cut to the strikingly persistent, fruit-driven finish, which shows only a trace of tannins.

NB vintage. Younger vines on all granite in the south of the appellation. Fills out on the palate and really fresh but not skinny. Very pure, an ascetic rendition. (JR)

20-year-old vines. Dry – very dry. Very introvert with dry black liquorice notes. Keep this for ages! Not an ounce of spare flesh. (JR)
