Tasting notes
Upfront and expressive, with superb aromatics of black fruits, peppered meats, game, and earth, the 2007 Gangloff Côte-Rôtie La Barbarine is a beautiful ’07, showing surprising ripeness and texture that’s balanced by juicy acidity and solid focus on the finish. No harm in drinking now, this should evolve gracefully over the coming 10 to 12 years.

Bright ruby. Smoky, nuanced aromas of musky raspberry, Indian spices, cocoa powder, violet and anise. Silky and subtle on entry, then vibrant and delineated in the mid-palate, with bitter cherry, red berry and floral qualities. Pungent minerality gives it a weightless impression and adds cut to the long, spicy finish. Thirty percent of the stems were included this vintage.
