Score 86/100 · Drink 1999-2004, Robert Parker, Feb 1997
A dark ruby/purple color possesses fine saturation for the vintage. Made in a typical Larmande-like style, this lavishly-oaked, smoky, black-cherry-scented wine exhibits a ripe entry, medium body, some distracting dry wood tannin, and a firm, muscular, solid finish. I am not convinced enough tannin will melt away to provide a velvety texture, but the 1993 is a rustic, oaky St.-Emilion that should drink well between 1999-2004.
