With really high class aromatics of earthy dark fruit, cassis and plum fruit, the 1998 Jasper Hill Shiraz Georgia's Paddock is full bodied and shows a little underlying sweetness, fantastic texture, nice acidity and a long finish. Still young.

Explosive, thick and complex is the dense purple-colored 1998 Shiraz Georgia's Paddock. It exhibits a provocative perfume of smoke, barbecue spice, creme de cassis, and blackberries with pepper and vanilla in the background. Full-bodied, opulent, and voluptuous, this sexy, dense, low acid Shiraz coats the palate with considerable viscosity and purity. It can be drunk now and over the next 12-14 years. Bright, deep ruby-purple. Pungent, penetrating aromas of blackberry, eucalyptus and pepper, along with distinctly jammy suggestions of surmaturite. Superripe, thick and sweet in the mouth; quite silky and lush in texture. Finishes with big, ripe, smooth tannins and a note of woodsmoke.
