Score 87/100 · Drink 1980-2010, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Oct 2024

This aged blend of red indigenous grapes from the Veneto region of Italy offers a throwback style that prizes fullness and some residual sweetness too. The Bertani 1975 Amarone della Valpolicella opens to a concentrated texture with forest floor, potting soil and wild mushroom. It sports a very earthy personality all said and done with fine-tuned structure.
