Dark ruby. Cherry liqueur and one of the least peppery, alcoholic on the nose, with just the beginning of mulch. Very restrained for a Dal Forno Amarone and not the best of vintages, but I like how poised it is. Sweet, juicy palate with bags of slightly drying tannins, even a little astringent. but the fruit holds up effortlessly. Quite a bit of sweetness on the finish – to mask the green tannins? (WS)

Deep ruby-red. Superripe, port-like aromas of hazelnut and raisin. Very sweet and rich on the palate, with enough acidity to give it good balance. A floral note adds flavor interest. Strong in alcohol yet harmonious, and accessible right now. Almost a dessert-style Amarone-or serve it with the cheese course. Finishes very long, with fine tannins.

Along with Giuseppe Quintarelli, Dal Forno Romano makes the best wines in the Veneto. The history of Dal Forno Romano, however, is much shorter, and its rise to fame much faster.
