Score 91/100 · Drink 2026-2036, Neal Martin, Jul 2024

The 2010 Amiral de Beychevelle is a very pleasant surprise. Superior delineation and freshness compared to the 2015, this has a vivacious bouquet with black cherries, struck flint and a subtle, interwoven marine influence. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins and a graphite seam lending it a Pauillac-like personality. With quite a powerful finish, strangely, this Amiral would benefit from more time in bottle.

About the producer

Château Beychevelle 1:1
Beychevelle

With greater care in the vineyard and more precision in the winery, Ch. Beychevelle's star is rising. That's in large part due to the leadership of Philippe Blanc and investment by current owners, Japanese brewers Suntory and French wine group Castel.
