Score 89/100 · Drink 2025-2033, Neal Martin, Nov 2024
The 1978 Richebourg Grand Cru has an open nose with simple dark berry fruit, black tea, bay leaf and brown spices. The palate is quite sweet and nicely balanced on the entry, though it's a little rustic and perhaps there is some hardness on the finish. Even so, I find this to be better than the Jean Gros version. Tasted at the 1978 Bouilland horizontal.
