Tasting notes
The saturated dark purple-colored 1999 Cornas Renaissance is produced from young vines planted on the lower slopes. The wine displays a thick, juicy nose of cassis and blackberry fruit presented in a style similar to the 2000 Cotes du Rhone. There is acidity, earthy austerity, and tannin in the Renaissance, which should easily age for 10-12 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524

Ruby-red. Spicy cherry and raspberry nose. Supple, sweet, fat and fruity, with a rather easygoing structure. Finishes with slightly dry but light tannins.
