Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2004-2011, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004
“I know a lot of great growers in Nuits,” said Rion when he saw how pleased I appeared while tasting his 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Vieilles Vignes. Its plummy, super-ripe black fruit aromas lead to a medium-bodied personality crammed with spices, lush cherries, and candied blackberries. Deep and generous, it slathers the palate with fruit, revealing a long finish loaded with syrupy tannin. Projected maturity: now-2011. Importers: Chicago Wine Merchants, Chicago, IL; tel.
