Medium red. Tangy cherry and raspberry aromas accented by herbs and spices. Quite dry and piquant in the mouth; broader than the Savigny-les-Beaune but dominated by its mineral spine today. Showing little in the way of obvious fruit, but this spicy, minerally wine boasts excellent verve for the year. The building tannins will require at least a few years of patience.

Mid crimson, dark and peppery fruit. Savoury on the palate but much fresher and better balanced than the Savignys though there is just a hint of the cooked flavour on the finish. Firm. (JH)
(spring malo; 50% vendange entier Good deep red-ruby color. Lovely mineral lift to the aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry; much more refined than Les Vergelesses. Then sweet and rich but fine-grained and juicy in the mouth. This shows a hint of chocolate but plenty of supporting energy. Finishes very long and perfumed, with a chewy tactile quality and tannins supported by mid-palate material. Impressive.
