Tasting notes
Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2011

Palish medium red, with a touch of amber at the edge. Captivating aromas of cherry, raspberry, Indian spices and stone. Then round and seamless in the mouth, with excellent pepper-and-cinnamon lift to the red fruit, spice and herb flavors. Very subtle, seamless wine, but at the same time quite bracing. Claude de Nicolay noted that this wine was "small" in barrel but has put on weight since the bottling in May of 2010.

Notably pale ruby. Even some hint of orange there... Odd oak on the nose. Then uncomfortably drying on the finish with the fruit a little cooked. Not for me! Also tasted 8 Jan 2010. Score 16. Drink 2012-16: Very light and a bit taut and hard work. Also tasted 11 Jan 2010. Score 16. Drink 2011-14: Just sulphured before samples taken so much paler than it should be. A certain nerve and drive. Quite pure but very light. (JR)
