Tasting notes
I did not expect this wine to show this well, but it is a real sleeper of the vintage. Complex notes of forest floor, bay leaf and sexy black currant and black cherry fruit are followed by a medium-bodied, supple-textured, well-balanced, fully mature wine. Drink it over the next few years.

Like Ducru Beaucaillou, now managed by Bruno rather than Xavier Borie (see Grand Puy Lacoste). Very ripe and rich on the nose with deep maroon colours. But on the palate there is a lack of both concentration and structure. One might call it fine fruit juice. Inky finish fades away. (JR)
