Pure, aromatic, though still with quite a bit of chewy tannin. Just a little stodgy but with food this may well be a great buy. Hint of alcohol on the end. (JR)

Dark crimson. Real focus on the nose and masses of (very slightly raw) fruit on the palate. Distinctly superior for the Côte Chalonnaise. Slightly dry end. (JR)

Here too a kiss of wood frames the spicy and ripe aromas of dark berry fruit and earth aromas. There is outstanding richness to the relatively concentrated medium weight flavors that deliver fine depth on the impressively long finish. In much the same fashion as the 2012 version, this is unusually good for such young vines. Tasted: Oct 15, 2013. Drink: 2017+
