Score 94/100 · Drink 2006-2018, Robert Parker, Feb 2006
Like its siblings, the 2003 Saint-Joseph l’Essentiel was produced from yields of 12 hectoliters per hectare. Full-bodied and unctuously textured, with more minerality than expected in a year of such great ripeness and high alcohol, its aging in 100% new oak has been completely absorbed by its remarkable concentration. Anticipated maturity: now-2018. A Patrick Lesec Selection, various American importers, including Stacole Fine Wines, Boca Raton, FL; tel. (561) 998-0029, Classic Wines, Boston, MA; tel.
