Good deep, bright red. Deep, vibrant aromas of black cherry, stone and violet suggest a wine with strong extract. Then rich and chewy in the mouth, with enough sheer density of texture and uncanny sucrosite to support its strong, almost tart acidity and avoid coming off as austere. Really saturates the mouth on the very long finish. A splendid, very young village wine from high-altitude vines.

(tasted from tank; Gros expected to bottle all of her wines by Christmas): Dark red with ruby tones. Compelling aromas of raspberry, blackberry, bitter chocolate and violet, with a pungent hint of blood orange: an essence of cool-climate pinot. Dense and sweet but high-pitched, with terrific purity and cut to the dark berry and mineral flavors. Really wonderful precision here: I could drink this all day! Finishes firmly tannic but not hard, with lingering perfume. Should make an outstanding village wine.
Good energy and broad mouthfilling fruit. Lots of gas – rather opulent crimson fruit. Should make very precise old bones, but needs lots of time. (JR)
