Reticent but pure aromas of pineapple, white flowers, minerals and mint. Dense but quite taut, thanks to lovely ripe acids and a firm mineral underpinning. Tightly wound today. Persistent and gripping on the back end. Less evolved than most of the other 2001s here, as the barrels lie against the coldest wall of the cellar. Cournut is particularly fond of this cuvee, but it was tricky to taste at the beginning of June.
