Bright purple. Lively dark berry and cherry aromas are complemented by notes of anise and candied violet. Ripe but energetic, offering fresh blueberry and bitter cherry flavors that pick up a peppery nuance in the glass. Fine-grained tannins give grip to a spicy, sharply focused finish. No excess weight here.

100% Syrah. Much more expressive and comfortable than this producer’s Crozes. Great nose-tickling pepper. Then admirable polish and verve. I might even take it for a lesser Côte Rôtie! GV (JR)
