Score 92/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound

beautifully layered nose is comprised of mineral reduction, floral notes and citrus zest. The dense, powerful and impressively scaled medium-bodied flavors possess excellent intensity before culminating in a highly persistent and impeccably well-balanced finale. As is often the case at this address, the La Moutonne is the best wine in the range. Tasted: Oct 15, 2013. Drink: 2018+

The 2011 Chablis Grand Cru Moutonne has a light bouquet, almost Zen-like with scents of dewy green apple, cold granite and just a touch of smoke. It just needs a little more intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with a light, sherbet-tinged entry that displays fine tension, although thereafter it seems to lose interest and fade toward the finish, which needs more acidity and race. Drink now-2017. Aug 2013, www.robertparker.com
