Good full red. Aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice. Juicy and aromatic on the palate, with lovely acid cut to the sappy red cherry and spice flavors. In a distinctly bright, taut style, with serious tannins arriving late. Really stimulates the taste buds. Michel Lafarge, who had virtually no remaining wine to show, called 2011 "a classic year with good phenolic maturity at moderate sugar levels, like 1952." The wines should be drunk after the 2010s, he added.

Charming and round even if less precise than the 2012s I've been tasting. (JR)
Bright medium red. Cherry, earthy underbrush and a whiff of spicy oak on the nose; reminded me of Barbaresco. Dry and energetic in the mouth, with noteworthy lift and vinosity to the red fruit, spice and earth flavors. More structured and complex than the regular village cuvee, but its more serious tannic spine will probably call for a couple years of patience.
Terroir selection in the centre of the appellation just below the premiers crus. Much more concentrated than the regular bottling. Great vivacity and lots more fruit gives this a longer drinking window. Very silky. Very Volnay. (JR)
