Tasting notes
The 2000 Barolo Marenca, the only offering on the market from this superb vineyard, is the richest and most important of the four, powerful and sweet in aroma with warm and penetrating notes of licorice, tar, and dried roses, a meaty, large-framed palate, and plush, firm tannins on its long and lingering finish. Drink: 2005-2020. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel. (773) 334-6700, and Estate Wines, Ltd., San Rafael, CA; tel. (415) 492-9411

Medium red. Sweet, open-knit aromas of mocha and roasted nuts. Sweet and densely packed, with quickly developing flavors of mocha, minerals and spices. This has more mid-palate density to support its dusty but even tannins.
