A fleshy, soft, yet powerful, heady St.-Estephe made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this wine displays very attractive black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with earthy underbrush notes. The wine has a velvety texture, supple tannins, good purity and depth. Despite its accessibility, it has the potential to last for 10-15 years.

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. The bottle I tasted was lighter and tarter than I was expecting. Creditable but not a stand out 2009 from this Dourthe property to judge from this bottle. (JR)
