Score 91/100 · Drink 2016-2030, Mark Squires, Dec 2016

The 1952 Vintage Port is an oldie, not a current release. This was tasted after being opened about 18 hours before. Gentle and harmonious, with its tannins largely resolved, this library wine (not a current release) is all about the complexity at this point. Very light in color and showing some tawny-like hints of flavor, it is still in a very good place now, bright and lively, but as ready as it is going to be. Given the color and the flavor, it isn't likely to be the most age-worthy if kept for more decades, but it won't fall off the table quickly. That said, it is better to drink than hold this, unless you really like extreme age.
