Tasting notes
Dried earth, loamy herbs, Asian spices and assorted red and black fruit characteristics all emerge from the 2008 Chateau Franc Mayne. Medium-bodied, fully mature and charming, it shows more sweet fruit with time in the glass, has nicely integrated acidity, and is a pretty, elegant wine to drink over the coming 5-6 years.

Distinctly gassy on the palate and then a bit drying on the end. Really falls away on the finish. (JR)
While this is a very good effort, I was hoping the 2008 would be slightly better based on previous tastings from the barrel. Its deep plum/garnet color is accompanied by sweet herbal, licorice, black currant and cherry notes, round, elegant, medium-bodied flavors and a soft finish. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.
