Bright red-ruby. Suppler and silkier than the village wine, with complex, wild flavors of black plum, black raspberry, licorice, minerals and meat. This boasts lovely sweetness and finesse, as well as a longer finish. The gripping tannins are nicely buffered by the wine's mid-palate material. Strict selection was required due to hail damage, said Dugat, who reported production down 65% from a normal crop here.

(racked at the end of September) Bright ruby-red. Pure aromas of blackberry and smoked meat, with a note of caramel from the oak. Plump and supple but a bit unforthcoming today, tightened by the racking. But this will be silky and stylish.
