2006 Criots Batard Montrachet

Much more about fruit on the nose than the Chevalier, with borderline-exotic notes of apricot, peach and honey. Fat, rich and sweet, conveying a powerful impression of extract. Completely different in texture from the Chevalier. And yet this explosively rich, huge wine benefits from strong wet stone minerality on the back end, which leavens its sweetness and gives the finish great solidity.
