Tasting notes
Captivating aromas and flavors of pear, flowers, minerals, honey and white truffle. Tactile, sweet and rich, with quintessential Chassagne-Montrachet character. A flavor of pear drop shows an almost exotic sweetness. Less smooth today than the Caillerets and in need of aging. But this spreads out impressively on the back end and really dusts the palate. Fontaine says that this was anonymous during the winter but that he's agreeably surprised by it today.

A clean and unusually elegant and refined nose for Criots features white flower, lemon rind, spice notes and hints of straw and earth that can also be found on the big, rich and sleekly muscled flavors that are admirably concentrated and powerful, all wrapped in an almost bone dry finish that goes on for several minutes. This is not elegant in the mouth but the nose is refined.
