Score 17/20 · Drink 2004-2020, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2002
Very firm, almost strident nose with a hint of both pastry cream and green apples. Masses of acidity still. This one will run and run and is still in its shell in a rather stiff military way (British not American, ie, crusty old colonel not Colin Powell). To be cellared still. Still quite tight. (JR)

Flamboyantly rich aromas of orange zest, nut oils, toast, toffee, mushroom, macadamia nut, underbrush and bonfire. Large-scaled, superripe and very rich, with a wonderfully seamless, pliant texture and a deep hazelnutty quality. Huge, slow-building, thick finish hints at great ripeness.
