Tasting notes
The 2011 Filhot has a perfumed bouquet with saffron, orange blossom, quince and yellow plum. Lovely. The palate is powerful and rich, very sweet and quite unctuous, great depth with a lightly spiced finish. Whilst I have been critical of Filhot in recent vintages, hats off to this splendid showing. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Good verve and relatively aromatic. Peachy and interesting with good acidity. A bit of heat on the end and lots of potential but good ingredients in place. (JR)
The 2011 Filhot has an attractive bouquet with white flower and honey scents that gently unfold in the glass. There is a sense of focus here that I do not find on the 2010. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity, fresh and lively with mandarin, orange zest, quince and a touch of spice. This has gained some weight since I last tasted it and it remains one of the best Filhot in recent years. Tasted at the vertical tasting at Château Filhot.
