Relatively light ruby with some evolution. Autumn undergrowth on the nose. Notable acidity but very well balanced and quite evolved. Truly Côte Rôtie. Quite forward though there is some tannin lurking underneath. (JR)

Full ruby. Subtle, reticent aromas of minerals and smoked meat. Rich, sweet and supple; the dark fruit and dark chocolate flavors really spread out on the palate. Fresh and not at all heavy for '99. Finishes with rich, ripe tannins.
