Tasting notes
Saturated medium ruby. Deeply spicy, very rich aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, smoke, minerals, licorice and violet pastille. Large-scaled and very dense, with sound acids framing the slightly medicinal black cherry, blackberry and licorice flavors. A highly concentrated wine whose huge, dusty tannins really saturate the palate. This will merit a score at the high end of my range if the tannins are refined prior to bottling.

About the producer

In 1994, Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza made their first wine together. This was the beginning of Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez, their joint project that looks to uncover the “real” Spain, working with old vineyards and indigenous varieties to recover the nation’s vinous heritage.
