Good fresh red. Slightly exotic aromas of blackberry liqueur and black cherry. Then spicy, fresh and powerful in the mouth, with strong black cherry fruit supported by a firm tannic spine. This can be enjoyed with some time in the decanter but has the structure to age.

The 2009 Marsannay Les Longeroies reveals an attractive core of dark red fruit and a refined, elegant personality with good suppleness on the finish.

The 2009 Marsannay Les Longeroies reveals an attractive core of dark red fruit and a refined, elegant personality with good suppleness on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. Arnaud Mortet told me he is working with less extraction and lower levels of new oak than his father used to employ. Mortet did 5 days of cold maceration followed by 20 or so days of fermentation with very light extraction. The malos finished between June and November 2010, on the late side for the vintage. (racked three weeks ago) Bright dark red. Very ripe aromas of redcurrant and coffee. Fat, lush and sweet, with a slightly exotic marzipan quality to the red fruit flavors. Not especially delineated but nicely saturates the palate.
