Score 89/100 · Drink 2009-2014, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Apr 2009

Ratti’s 2004 Barolo Marcenasco is an elegant, floral wine with pretty notes of red raspberries, flowers, wild herbs and spices. This refined, fragrant Barolo possesses excellent length and lovely overall balance. Only a slight note of greenness keeps the score from going higher. Good full medium red. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, marzipan, flowers and truffley underbrush. Suave, dry and firmly built, combining lovely sweetness and very good inner-mouth energy. Finishes long and shapely, with a suggestion of exotic fruits and tannins that are a bit youthfully tough.
