100% Merlot. 50% new oak. This is an outstanding Petite Eglise. Very deep and intense on the nose with blackberry fruit and gentle spice. The palate is fluid, silky and concentrated. A lovely freshness on the finish. FINE+RARE

100% Merlot on gravel, 50% new oak; volume down on last year. Darkest crimson with opaque core. Sweet red cherry. Much sweeter and more red-fruited than the Montlandrie. Juicier too and fruit forward. Papery texture. Juicy fruit escapes around the dry tannins like a river round the rocks. (JH)
About the producer
Ch. l'Eglise-Clinet is one of the most unassuming wine estates in Bordeaux. You'd probably drive past it if you didn't have prior knowledge of its vinous output. There's no ostentatious gateway nor sweeping gravel drive.
