Tasting notes
The Borie family of Ch Ducru-Beaucaillou added polish and finesse to the wines since they bought this neighbouring vineyard. 2012 was the last vintage – the wine now goes into Croix de Beaucaillou and Le Petit Ducru. (Lalande Borie no longer exists either.) Just 1,500 cases and only 3.5 ha. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Mid crimson. Exotic and rich and sweet biscuity nose. Soft and sweet with tannins no longer in evidence. Dramatic but certainly not classic. (JR)

An attractive, cedary, creme de cassis-dominated wine made by Bruno Borie at Ducru-Beaucaillou as an exclusivity for the firm of Nathaniel Johnson, this wine shows lovely fruit, medium to full body, sweet tannins, and is designed for consumption in its first decade of life.
