Tasting notes
The 2004 Malleolus de Sanchomartin is also purple/black in color. It displays an impressive perfume of roasted herbs, balsamic, black fruits, licorice, and a hint of truffle. Dense, layered, powerful but totally harmonious, all the ingredients are present for future greatness. Give it 12-15 years and drink it through 2044. Malleolus de Sanchomartin is sourced from a vineyard planted in 1964 with cuttings grafted from the Valderramiro vineyard. Alcoholic fermentation is with indigenous yeasts with ML in barrel. The wine is then aged for 22 months in French oak. Importer: Please contact the winery to find your nearest importer. www.emiliomoro.com

Deep ruby. Vibrant, intensely perfumed aromas of mineral-accented red berries and cherry, with deeper espresso, black cardamom and rooty licorice qualities. Bright strawberry and raspberry on the impressively expansive and precise palate. Fine-grained tannins give shape to the strikingly long, juicy finish. This is not at all about size.
The 2004 Malleolus de Sancho Martin comes from a single vineyard planted in 1964. It was aged for 22 months in new French oak. Even more expressive aromatically, it offers a beautiful perfume of spice box, vanilla, lead pencil, red and black currants and blackberry liqueur. Sweet, supple, and layered on the palate, it has terrific concentration and balance. Give this superb effort 6-8 years of cellaring and drink it through 2032.
