Tasting notes
Another powerful wine, the medium to full-bodied 2002 Château Barde-Haut boast lots of classic minerality and dried herbs notes as well as plenty of blackcurrant and chocolate-laced dark fruits, full-bodied richness, good acidity, and a clean finish. It's another gem of a wine from this team.

Sweet and only a little sickly. Lot of set pleasure to be had here. GV (JR)
Red-ruby. Captivating aromas of black cherry, raspberry and smoky oak. Supple, lush and creamy, with a suave texture, harmonious acidity and moderate sweetness. Not hugely dense or concentrated but has lovely fruit and sneaky depth. Hints at a meaty note of reduction.
The deep ruby/purple-tinged 2002 exhibits sweet fruit, a touch of vegetation, forest floor, and earthy notes, and a clean, medium to full-bodied finish. There is better balance than in the 2003, but little stuffing and density. Drink it over the next 8-9 years.
