Tasting notes
Good deep red. Raspberry, coffee and minerals on the nose and palate, lifted by a floral topnote. Big, tactile and rich, with a restrained sweetness and a strong spice character. Serious dry extract contributes to the impression of inner-mouth tension and cut. The rising, very long finish hints at the warmth of the site. According to winemaker Gublin, the crop level here was just 22 hectoliters per hectare in 2010, and the fruit came in at 12.5% potential alcohol and was chaptalized to 13%.

(finished its malo in August and still in barrel today): Deep, bright red-ruby. Blackberry, minerals, graphite, flowers and a whiff of pepper on the nose; conveys an impression of much warmer terroir than the Echezeaux. Dense, sappy and impressively concentrated, with urgent crushed fruit flavors over a firm mineral spine. At once silky and vibrant, and still an infant. Rises and builds on the very long finish, saturating every nook and cranny of the palate. With its noble tannins, this combines power and finesse.
