Newly released after being aged for years on the estate. Mid ruby, with impressive concentrated centre with orange rim. Still quite compact and meaty with hints of hung game. Fluid palate with firm structure. Almost a salty, minerally finish. Still too young, but great potential. Fine red fruit on a muscular finish. (WS)

Today the 2000 Dieci Anni is in an in between state where the earliest signs of tertiary aromatics suggest the wine might be close to being ready to drink, while the foreboding tannins tell another story entirely. This powerful, sensual Rionda needs at least another few years in bottle, but it is already shaping to be a beauty. This is one of the best Riondas Massolino has ever made.
